You have two options –
Pay for your membership in Full or
Spread the cost over 4 months (Takes longer to become an active member)
Spread payment terms:
- 1st Payment gets you access to the Members portal including all your training courses.
- 2nd & 3rd payment will enable your DBS check to be processed (Can take up to 60 Days)
- 4th (Final) payment – Your Uniform and I.D card will be despatched (If DBS has passed and all training is completed)
Service Member Role
✓ Full access to the Members’ Portal including all assigned training modules
✓ Physical ID card (dispatched upon completion of DBS and training)
✓ Digital ID card for immediate use upon activation
✓ DBS check facilitated by The Shield (must be applied for within 30 days of joining)
✓ Access to internal operational communications via official channels (Teams / secure portal)
✓ Patrol coordination access and regional deployment eligibility
✓ Access to training updates, safeguarding briefings, and policy documentation
✓ Eligibility to participate in school visits, workshops, and community interventions
✓ Eligibility for DSM (Designated Safeguarding Member) progression pathway
✓ Annual membership certificate
X – Must complete mandatory induction training before being deployed operationally
X – DBS check required before frontline activity
X – Failure to apply within 30 days incurs an admin charge
X – Subject to The Shield’s full Safeguarding Policy, Code of Conduct and Digital Conduct Policy
X – May not contact statutory agencies independently without DSL/Deputy DSL authorisation
X – Spread payment option delays full activation (physical ID dispatched on 4th payment only)
